You may or may not know how popular The Sims game is.  The only way you don’t know this information is if video games do not interest you once so ever!  Now there is Second Life.  Similar to the sims only you can walk, run or fly to a ton of different destinations.  We like to read up in this sort of stuff to stay in tune with other types off innovation besides web development, you never know when it may strike inspiration.  Here’s the kicker for Second Life.  You can purchase money in the game which the currency is ‘Lindens’ with real money.  It averages out to about $1 U.S. dollar = $250 Lindens.  After that, it’s all down hill.  You create your player, dress them, change their hair, give them tattoos, make them have muscles… anything you can imagine.  Take your player to a club, a bar, a retaurant, they can even get married, and it can all be bought for a price.  Thankfully you can join for free & are not required to partake in the the madness of spending imaginary money with real money.  That’s for players like us.  So, it does provide a well deserved break from reality.  However, I don’t recommend spending too much time there or you may forget what is really important!  It is a cool concept, a good design, & it is amazing it runs so smoothly with over 1 million users.  Plus, someone out there is making a boat load of money off of subscriptions!
